The Hollywood Disco Story
The Hollywood Disco owes its existence to a legendary DJ/entertainer named Robert Raiford, who started a small club in downtown Memphis in 1977. Over the years the club was known by several names, ultimately as Raifords Hollywood Disco. The club, now known as simply HOLLYWOOD DISCO, is still in operation today. It is legendary for its unique vibe, and has fans all over the world (literally).
So why do people love HOLLYWOOD DISCO so much? First, the DJ is not just a DJ, but rather an entertainer whos only goal is to entertain the people in the club. The music is an awesome mix of dance songs -- from Michael Jackson, Prince, KC and the Sunshine Gang, Sugarhill Gang, Nelly, and Rick James, to name a few, including songs you did not know you could dance to (Kid Rocks Cowboy comes to mind). Next, the atmosphere is totally unique...rope lights everywhere, fog machines, leather couches, and a drum set for patrons to play along with their favorite songs. As a recent Chicago Tribune article quoted from an elected official who was at the club for the first time... you cannot explain it...just go.
Nashville is the first ever HOLLYWOOD DISCO to open up outside of Memphis. Since there is no way to recreate the Memphis club, we have created a unique club in midtown Nashville. But the goal remains the same...to bring you the best, funnest dance club in town. We think you will like it (and we hope you LOVE it).
